  94. This package contains the FONTKAT Font Cataloger v1.0, by Alex Ogden
  95. Software. This document contains only a brief description of the package
  96. and its features, along with instructions for its installation. Detailed
  97. documentation is included in the package.

  99. FONTKAT is a shareware program.  You may use this evaluation version of
  100. FONTKAT for up to 30 days, without charge.  If you like the program,
  101. and wish to continue its use after this evaluation period, you are
  102. required to pay the registration fee of $20 (see REGISTER.DOC for more
  103. details). Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers,
  104. etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee for their copying and
  105. distribution services, rather than a payment for continued use of the
  106. program.

  108. Upon registration you receive the enhanced registered version of the
  109. program.  Added features include:  several more selections for the type
  110. of text FONTKAT will use in creating font specimens; more options for
  111. marking/unmarking the fonts you want to catalog; a configuration file to
  112. speed things up; the ability to stop the cataloging process and finish
  113. that catalog at a later time; the ability to start the printing of your
  114. font catalog once done.  In addition to these added feature registered
  115. users also receive two bonus programs.  KATPRINT simplifies printing
  116. existing font catalogs created with FONTKAT.  FONTMAP creates a keyboard
  117. map for your international/symbol/dingbat fonts.

  139. INSTALLATION
  140. ============

  142. The installation procedure for the FONTKAT system is quite simple.  The
  143. package includes a special macro, "INSTALL.WPM", which automates the
  144. entire process.  To activate the installation macro start WordPerfect as
  145. you normally.  From the editing screen press Macro (Alt-F10) and enter
  146. the full path to where the uninstalled files presently are and type
  147. INSTALL (for example, "C:\DOWNLOAD\INSTALL"). The installation program
  148. will prompt you to enter three pieces of information:
  149.  
  150.      1) "Copy the files from:"
  151.           This is where the uninstalled files are located.  The default
  152.           value is A:\.  Edit the line as needed to reflect the full
  153.           path to the files (such as D:\DOWNLOAD, for instance).
  154.  
  155.      2) "Copy macro files to:"
  156.           The default value is whatever your current personal macro
  157.           directory is set to.  You shouldn't need to edit this line
  158.           unless you have macros in more than one directory.
  159.  
  160.      3) "Copy documentation to:"
  161.           This is where the documentation file, and other related
  162.           documents, will be copied to.  The default value will be your
  163.           current document directory plus "FONTKAT\".  Edit the line if
  164.           you would like these files copied elsewhere.

  166. NOTE:     INSTALL.WPM will NOT be copied to either of these directories
  167.           so be sure to keep a backup copy of the original FONTKAT disk.
